ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਾਲ ੧॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ - ਪੰਨਾ ੧੭॥ ਆਵਹੁ ਭੈਣੇ ਗਲਿ
ਮਿਲਹ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ॥ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਹ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਕੰਤ ਕੀਆਹ॥ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਅਉਗਣ
ਸਭਿ ਅਸਾਹ॥ ੧॥
ਅਰਥ: ਆਓ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਸੱਭ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ
ਦੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ
ਸਾਰੇ ਔਗਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ। (੧)
O True Devotees, let us get together in congregation and sing
the praises of the Almighty God because the Omnipotent God is an embodiment of
all Virtues whereas we are full of vices. 1)
ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਜੋਰਿ॥ ਏਕੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਜਾ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਰਿ॥ ੧॥
ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਜੀਓ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿੱਚ
ਹੀ ਵਿਚਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲਈਏ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ
ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਖੌਤੀ ਸੰਤ-ਬਾਬੇ, ਜਥੇਦਾਰ। (੧-ਰਹਾਉ)
O God, the Creator, the entire Universe exists under Your
Divine Command. If we could comprehend God’s Order by reciting the True Naam,
there is no need to seek shelter under any other person such as the so-called
sant-babas, mendicants, ascetics and jathedaars... (1 – Pause)
ਜਾਇ ਪੁਛਹੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਤੁਸੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਕਿਨੀ ਗੁਂਣੀ॥ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸੀਗਾਰੀਆ
ਮਿਠਾ ਬੋਲਣੀ॥ ਪਿਰੁ ਰੀਸਾਲੂ ਤਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣੀ॥ ੨॥
ਅਰਥ: ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ
ਨੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਕੇ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਰ ਬਣੇ ਹਨ। ਇੰਜ, ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਂ ਬਿਆਨ
ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਹਜਿ, ਸੰਤੋਖ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ
ਢਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਨੇੜਤਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ
ਸੁਭਾਗ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ। (੨)
Let us find out from the true devotees as to what sorts of
virtues have they acquired, by which they have attained God’s refuge? In
response, they would simply say that their success was due to their enriching
themselves with harmony, contentment, humility and use of polite language. It is
only by virtue of obeying Guru’s Teachings that one could attain God’s
blessings. (2)
ਕੇਤੀਆ ਤੁਰੀਆ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਕੇਵਡ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ॥ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਿਫਤਿ
ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ॥ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਕੇਤੇ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ॥ ੩॥
ਅਰਥ: ਇਵੇਂ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ
ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ
ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤੂ, ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਿਫਤਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ
ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਲਗ ਅਲਗ ਰੂਪ-ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤੂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Thus, the true devotees while participating in congregation
remain attuned in praising God’s countless bounties and virtues. The Almighty
God had created innumerable creatures, which go on singing God’s praises day and
night. In fact, God has created countless people of different forms, castes,
colour and race. (3)
ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ॥ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਉਗਵੈ
ਗੁਰਬਚਨੀ ਭਉ ਖਾਇ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ॥ ੪॥ ੧੦॥
ਅਰਥ: ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਕੇ, ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ
ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਐਸਾ ਜੀਵ ਸਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਦੇ
ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ
ਐਸੇ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (੪/੧੦)
One could acquire Truth in the heart through the company of
Guru-oriented devotees and thus the person remains attuned with God’s True Naam.
Such a person obeys God’s Divine Command and gets respect everywhere. Guru Nanak
Sahib says that God bestows Grace on such Guru-oriented devotees. (4 / 10)
